Duties: Perform the development, planning, design, prototyping, and testing of door components and assemblies, taking into consideration customer feedback, fabrication requirements and supplier capabilities using 3D CAD system, SOLIDWORKS and INVENTOR. Program and operate MathCAD and other analysis tools. Perform the development, planning, design, and prototyping of the automation equipment for the fabrication and production processes with respect to capacity requirements and economic aspects. Perform CAD-system administrative tasks such as installation, upgrading and optimization of CAD-tools as well as setting up and installing of a document database system. Develop technical engineering documentation such as sales and manufacturing drawings analysis reports, test procedures, and engineering design. Coordination and communication with other in-house departments, customers, and suppliers during the development of design solutions. Present and explain system design issues and solutions to production team members, management, and customer representatives. Develop and review completed models, drawings, and repairs for accuracy, clarity, and completeness. Evaluate engineering products for conformity with standards, procedures, and specifications in the U.S., Canada, and Europe. Apply advanced technical principles, theories, and concepts in the design of mechanical systems. Contribute to the development of new products and concepts. Design and modeling of complex 3-D geometries. Provide assembly checkout and test support. Generate task plans and support proposal efforts. Ability to work independently on projects. Ability independently to identify problems with products and/or production processes and find solutions to the problems.
Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering and 2 years of experience.
