The answer to this question is: Sort of. Let us explain: The PlexiDor Electronic dog door will only open for the RFID collar tag. The dog door has to be receiving power in order to operate. So you can use a smart plug or Alexa or Google Home to turn the power to the dog door on or off. You can’t just turn on the dog door and make it open or close remotely. The RFID collar tag is what activates the dog door to open. For example, if you want to be able to drive out of your yard and close the gate behind you without the dogs running out, you can use your smart plug app to deny power to the dog door. Then when you are out the gate and it is closed, you can use your smart plug app to turn the power back on and the dogs can then use the dog door to go out in the yard.
