The Biewer Terrier is a young breed with roots in Germany. The breed standard was established in 1989, and the first representatives of the breed reached the USA in 2003. Being such a young breed there are still discussions of how the ideal dog should look and be. This is a toy breed, and the dogs normally weigh under 7 lbs, making the PlexiDor Small a suitable dog door size.
These are small dogs that don’t know they’re small; they are eager for adventure and new experiences. They are typically loyal, brave, and clever. Biewer Terriers are affectionate and sweet little dogs, generally good with older children, but they are dogs; not toys or accessories. Like all dogs, they require attention, exercise, and training. They love to play, and they require a daily walk.
