Canadian Eskimo
The Canadian Eskimo dog has roots dating back over 4,000 years, and it is one of North America’s oldest indigenous purebred dogs. Canadian Eskimos have been bred less for speed than for hard work, and they are known for being intelligent, alert, loyal, tough, and brave. Canadian Eskimos normally weigh in between 60 and 105 lbs, and would require a Large or Extra Large PlexiDor dog door.
This is a working dog with a lot of energy, and they need a job to do. They develop a deep bond with their owners, but they can be challenging.
They love sledding and backpacking activities, but don’t make good watchdogs or guard dogs.
Besides its home country Canada, this Eskimo dog is increasingly popular on Greenland.
The PlexiDor Extra Large is the right size dog door for this Canadian.
